48 Hours in Alwar...

We are going to discuss about a very different place located in the Northeren Part of Rajasthan and is essentially famous for its forts and havelis. I am talking about the city none other than Alwar!

I'd been there for a short trip as some of my family members live there, also, it was my first solo trip too. I was very excited and overwhelmed to see all of them and visit some of the most valuable and authentic monuments of Alwar. It is basically a small town with a rich heritage. You will literally feel as if you are in the era of Rajas and Maharajas. The city has its own charm and aura.

 SILISERH LAKE :

This view is from the top of one of the most eternal monument of the city, Siliserh Lake.

It is a good option if you want to hang out with your family or friends near a decent lake and at an amazing location. It hosts the Sariska Tiger reserve and offers safari for the same. It has an amazing cafeteria which makes you cautious about the monkeys. You never know when one monkey comes up and snatches your ice-cream !

BALA QILA:

The next big thing I had visited is considered as The Alwar Fort or Bala Qila. It is situated on the Aravalli Range, the fort is 5 kilometers long and about 1.5 kilometers wide with turrets, a large gate, a temple, and a residential area.

MOOSI MAHARANI KI CHATRI:

A chatri in Hindi basically means an umbrella, but here the case is not the same. The cenotaph was built by an architect, Vinay Singh in the memory of King Bakhtawar Singh and his Queen, Moosi.
Now, this place is converted into the area of all the official work happening in the city. As we know, it doesn't have a very huge inflow of tourist so as to collect enough funds for the maintenance of the place. So, the government decided to convert the place into some official work place to keep it alive.

The lake behind me was previously used by the Queen and her mates for bathing, but now it is being used as a water source for tidbit jobs by the locals.

I knew that I had a very less time to spend there with my family and explore the city and its nearby a little more. If you are not a slave of time, and you want to have a further adventure after Alwar, you can definitely choose Jodhpur as your next destination. I had been there too, but it was back in the time when I didn't think of having a blog and posting. So, what all I have got about Jodhpur is a beautiful experience without much photographs.
