My first interview

28/04/2018                                                                                                                           Saturday

It was the day of my first interview which I was going to face in my life. In the initial hours of the day I haven`t decided to go or to even apply for an interview. My father suggested me to make a resume and put it online as a part time job applicant.

I prepared a CV or Curriculum Vitae and uploaded it on Quickr.com. Right after making a profile on it, I received a call from the website staff about that my CV has been selected by the Reliance telecommunications and also by HDFC bank. But the service provided by the website staff was chargeable and they will need Rs.2000 for it. I disagreed to it.

In the afternoon when I was relaxing with the family, I again received a call from Createch Infosol Pvt. Ltd. asking me whether have I uploaded a CV for a job ? I told them yes. The caller`s name was Ipshita and she offered me a job in the call center and I agreed to it. Finally, she asked me to come down for the interview so that it will help them to know me better.

I asked her about the location of their office, the distance was affordable. She asked me to come for the PI or personal interview around 4 to 5 pm., so I decided to go for it. The requirements for the job was a fluent English speaker who can handle the clients efficiently. Or shall I say international clients. I found out that my spoken English was a little better and I was suitable for the job.

At 4.30 pm when my mother and I went to the location, the office from outside was not that lucrative that it would attract anyone. But, as we entered inside the cabin, we were proved to be wrong.

The reception area itself was a great place. It was a closed space, fully air-conditioned and then on the reception table, Ipshita Ma`am was sitting. My mother was seated on the sofa and I was directly in front of Ipshita Ma`am. I wasn't nervous but still I could feel the flow of adrenalin was raising in my veins. I was tensed a little bit because it was my first one, but I didn't let the fear express on my face.

She asked me a hell number of questions, about myself, my interests, my strengths and weaknesses and how I was different from the competition and a lot more. Thankfully, I answered each of her question really well and then she started explaining about the salary which gave me the indication that I was selected. And I was on the ninth cloud. I was as happy as a Sand boy, but I didn't even let that feeling of happiness come on my face. They say that the less you express, the better it is, and I truly believe in it.
